Azhagiya Kadan I.A.S Academy
Field study visit to New Delhi – A Report
Alhamdhulliah, It's been three months now, ever since we started our “Azhaghiya Kadan IAS Academy", to take it to the next level. In the meeting held on 21.11.2012 our governing body decided to send a team to New Delhi (which is considered as the hub of UPSC Exams) for a field study and understand the working of other prominent IAS academies.
A team of 4, led by Moulana Shamshudeen Qasmi (Chairman), Mr. Abul Hassan IAS (Director), Mr. Arif (Administrative Officer) and Mr. Abdul Rahman (Acting Committee Member), headed to New Delhi on 24.11.2012.
It was a four day trip, during which the team met many people related to UPSC coaching and it turned out to be an eye opener. The proposed travel itinerary was to visit prominent IAS Academy, to meet some Muslim IAS officers (who came forward to help us in nurturing our Academy) and to purchase books for our Academy's library. To help you understand better we have classified the Minutes of the Meetings based on the day.
Day 1:
The Team visited the India's only reputed Muslim Minority IAS Academy "Hamdard IAS Study Center". After three hours of discussion with its Chair Person Dr. Zaidhi, he agreed to accommodate some of our students. That was really promising not just to us but also for the whole Islamic Community (Tamil Nadu). The team also had a chance to check out the infrastructure of Hamdard.
Day 2:
The Team visited Khan Study group, one of the best IAS Academy in Delhi, which is run by Dr. Afsal Khan. The meeting really turned out to great knowledge gaining session and was really beneficial.
Later in the evening, there was a meeting arranged with Mr. R D Nazeem IAS - Government Secretary - Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Iqbal Butt - Senior lawyer- Supreme court New Delhi, Mr. Hasmath Nabi- Judicial Magistrate - New Delhi - Metro Politian. The meeting lasted for 3 long hours, during which so many important and valuable inputs were given by them.
Day 3:
In spite of his busy schedule, Mr. Abubacker Siddiqe IAS (Personal Secretary of Finance Minister of India - P.Chidabaram) arranged for a meeting at TamilNadu House- New Delhi. This turned out to be the best thing happened during the whole of the trip.
Later, the team met Chronicle IAS Academy's Senior Faculty, Prof. Shameem Aslam, during which he promised us to support us by sending some few faculties from his Academy and also an in person visit to our academy along with his wife, who is also an IFS officer. The rest of day was spent on purchasing books for our Academy's library.
Day 4:
The team went to Vajiram and Ravi Institute of IAS, which is known for its phenomenal results every year. (FYI- Retrospectively, Top 7 Students (All India Position) are from this Institute). The meeting with its Director Mr. Ravindar, was second best thing to mention, after discussing with our team, he promised us to accommodate 5 best Students from our Academy every year, besides that he also promised to visit our academy in person during the mid of December 2012.
And it was Mr.Abul Hasan IAS and Nazeem IAS’s sheer effort and involvement helped us to pull this trip to success.
Let’s add them in our prayers, May Allah (Swt) bless them with all good things both in this world and thereafter.
Alhamdhullilah, by Allah's (Swt) grace this Delhi visit turned out to be fruitful one and also helped us to envision the future.
